I think it looks pretty good. In front of me is my fully customized avatar for Shino. Of course, the gender is male and while I could’ve changed my race, I’m thinking of starting out being human, since playing vanilla is the most fun.
I had a bit of fun designing the hair. Despite it just being a 3D model, I found that you can manually mess and customize the avatar. With this feature, I gave myself long side burns and braided them to the back, like a pony tail, while adding purple highlights around the otherwise shortly cut black hair.
My body is left relatively unchanged: a lean, muscular body, around five foot nine.
What else, my eyes are still a hazel brown color. Also, as part of the character creation, I get free starter equipment set consisting of standard “adventurer” clothing. Yeah, that’s nice, since, like Br**th of the W*ld, not equipping armor leaves you just in underwear.
Right, I think I’m ready to go now. I press the continue button and my screen fades to black.
After a few moments of loading, a new pop-up appears asking which world I’ll travel to. Without hesitation, I immediately pick the most recent World 3 that came with today’s game patch.

Other World Online, also called OwO or IO (from the term Isekai Online), is the most active and successful DVRMMORPG (Definitive Virtual Reality Massively MultiPlayer Role-Playing Game) currently released. Aside from being a fantasy based game, the game’s main selling points are the realism of the open world maps and the ability to move between different maps, hence the name Isekai Online.
In addition, IO features classic aspects from other MMORPGs including gacha tickets, emergency quests, and boss raids, among others.
A class system is not necessarily in place, but has been established by the fanbase, categorizing the players into general archetypal figures for convenience’s sake. These include stuff like swordsman, tank, mage, cleric, and brawler.
In general, it is a game meant to enjoyed by a wide audience, from the relatively inexperienced experienced (like Shino) to hardcore gamers (closer to Mizuki).
As a side note, Shizuko decided to refrain from learning too much about the game from YouTube and Mizuki’s gaming experience. For the fun of it.
With a few more moments of waiting, my screen finally blooms with color, signaling the official first login.
